In 1929, Mr. W. Prager discovered the original School Song, appended below:
[FOUND IN THE ARCHIVES OF THE OCA]
THE GREEN AND GOLD SONG FOR BISHOP COTTONS SCHOOL, BANGALORE

Chorus:

Cottonians! Cottonians!

Of past time and today;

Put grit into your work lads,

Put grit into your play.

Keep high your name, Keep high your fame,

Keep high your flag, Cottonians!

Verse 1:

When life's hard battle must be faced

And we must sweat and grind, Boys,

Our name must never be disgraced

We must not be behind, Boys,

So glory in your work today

And grudge not pains untold boys,

And hold your School's renown on high

And wave the Green and Gold Boys!

Verse 2:

When sports come on and claim their hour,

Let’s tell at them and win Boys;

And show midst adverse fates our power

To make our foes to cave in Boys.

So glory in your scars and blows,

(We must one day turn old boys)

And carry high till victory glows

Our flag of Green and Gold!

Verse 3:

Should troubles fierce e'er vex our land

And nations rise and kill Boys,

We'll side by side take firm our stand

And show we have a will Boys.

A will to help our glorious Queen,

A will to keep a hold, boys

A will to show that Cotton's lads

Will have their Green and Gold, Boys!
